Turkish athlete Rıza Kayaalp equaled the record as European champion for the 12th time
Our national wrestler Rıza Kayaalp won the Greco-Roman 130 kg gold medal at the European Wrestling Championship held in Croatia. Kayaalp equaled the record of Russian Alexander Karelin, who won the same number of European titles.

According to the statement made by the Turkish Wrestling Federation, national athletes got on the mat in the ongoing organization in the capital Zagreb.

Rıza Kayaalp, who became the European champion for the 12th time by beating Azerbaijani Sabah Saleh Shariati 2-1 in the final, also equaled the record of Russian Alexander Karelin, who has 12 European championships.
